HOW IT WORKS

The 2025 tournament includes two consecutive phases:

Select teams from the Predictive Phase will advance to the Generative Phase.

Click on either phase below to see the detailed steps

PREDICTIVE PHASE

DEC. 1, 2025 – FEB. 20, 2026

Predict properties of PETase variants (activity under two conditions and expression).

Two Tracks
Zero-Shot(no training data)🏆 Prize: $5,000
Supervised(training data on natural sequences + mutants)
🏆 Prize: $5,000

GENERATIVE PHASE

MAR. 9 – AUG. 14, 2026

Design novel PETase sequences with enhanced activity under multiple conditions while maintaining expression.

  • Designs are experimentally synthesized and tested.
  • Two iterative design rounds with feedback between the rounds
🏆 Prize: $15,000 for top overall team
🏆 Prize: $5,000 for best performing sequence
